Console Settings & Administration
Manage coupled display frames, poster invite tokens, active console sessions, and display parameter configurations from the companion settings hub.
Companion Console Interface Overview
The companion console dashboard groups settings, playlist orchestrations, and user privileges under a unified control panel. Refer to the screenshot below showing the active console controls:
1. Edit Images
The Manage Playlist Images button on the Kiosk Orchestration card opens the active slide stream. This lets posters review preview thumbnails, check custom text captions, and verify the overall slideshow lineup.
2. Edit What's Happening Next
The Add What's happening next action on the FAB menu schedules calendar alerts and translucent banners directly on the smart display frame.
3. Send Invite
Expand your posting circle by inviting family members to join the frame network. Tapping Send Invite initiates a secure invitation code generation:
- Code Creation: The app creates a unique, unredeemed code in Firestore associated with the Kiosk ID.
- Invite Links: Share a link (e.g.
https://gv-prod-user-guide-2026.web.app/invite?code=XYZ) via SMS or email. - Redemption: When the poster opens the link, their phone number is registered, and the Kiosk ID is appended to their user profile.
4. Display Settings
Tuning frame aesthetics, colors, slideshow intervals, text sizes, physical screen rotation locks, and automatic sleep timers is managed inside the deeper-level Display Settings page.
5. GV Player View
The GV Player View provides posters with a live web simulation of the smart frame's display screen. This acts as a digital twin copy, rendering slideshow transitions, active reminders, clock widgets, and telemetry labels exactly as they appear in the living room.
6. Pair with GV Player
Link new smart frames to your companion account or unpair existing displays:
- Link New Frame: Select "Register New Device" and enter the 6-digit Wi-Fi pairing code (detailed in the Pairing Guide).
- Force Unpair Frame: Administrators can tap the unpair icon on the console card. This updates the database, revokes allowed user credentials, and returns the frame screen to standby mode.
7. Log Out Session
Tapping the logout button at the top-right corner of the dashboard securely terminates your active session. This revokes session JWT credentials, closes active Firestore listener streams to conserve device data, and returns you to the login screen.
8. Account
GrandyVision accounts use secure phone authentication. Roles determine what commands you can execute in the console:
- Root System Administrator: Full control to add/revoke allowed posters, edit display settings, manage storage, and decommission frames.
- Administrator: Can edit slide settings, invite posters, and add reminders.
- Poster: Poster account restricted to sending images and uploading reminders.
